This is a painting I did from life in an extremely inspiring studio in Florence, Italy. The studio belonged to Thor Larsen, a successful sculptor. He had a historic space that he lovingly filled with casts and sculptures and art of all sorts. It was truly a magical place, a dream space to create in. What struck me besides the cluttered charm and walls drenched in history was the amazing community. Sculptors walked in and out of the studio, working on their sculptures, critiquing each other’s work, and hanging out. What an amazing place.
